It was founded in the 16th century upon order of the Ivan the Terrible as a military staff to conquer the Khanate of Kazan. The trip to Sviyazhsk island takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. In Sviyazhsk the guests will have a walking tour around the island (1 hour 45 minutes) with a visit to Sviyazhsk Bogoroditsky Monastery founded in the 16th century.
